Happiness

‘Happiness’ is a very broad term. For some of us, it means family, for others, it will be brought by money. But no matter who you are, or what your goals are in life, you can be certain that there will be times that you need a helping hand.

Life is full of distractions and it can become far too easy to have tunnel vision, focussing on the negatives or drifting through life without taking a moment to enjoy the great things around you.

I went into 2016 without a job, having quit childcare and having absolutely no idea what I wanted to do in life. My (now) boss gave me a chance to get some work experience and I gave it my all. Four months down the line, I am happy and working towards my dream career with a bunch of positive, motivating people.

The difference that one decision can make is incredible, and although my boss may not be aware that his decision to take a chance and let me gain some work experience had such an impact, it has given me a completely new insight on what I want in life, and what makes me happy.

Whether it is the people around you, those who care about you, or that bit of progress in one aspect of your life, there is always a reason a smile. It might take a little more searching to find, and you may even need reminding every now and again, but there is always something which should bring happiness.

Not every day will be great, but having the ability to pick yourself up and carry on when it seems to all be going wrong is the one thing that will never let you down.

So whether you’re having a great day, or a bit of a rubbish one… Why not do something to put a smile on somebody else’s face?
